Apple Cider Vinegar Switchel (Haymaker’s Punch)

You don’t need to be putting up hay for the winter to enjoy this incredibly refreshing apple cider and ginger drink! It’s loaded with flavor, and will perk up your tastebuds.

Ingredients

9 cups water, divided

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup peeled and finely chopped ginger

1 cup molasses

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1/4 cup lemon juice

Instructions

In a medium saucepan bring 1 cup of water, granulated sugar, and ginger to a light boil over medium heat.

Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes.

Remove from heat and let cool for 15 minutes.

In a large pitcher stir together remaining water, ginger simple syrup, molasses, apple cider vinegar, and lemon juice.

Refrigerate for 1 hour to fully let the flavors meld.
