Sweet orange essential oil
Instructions
Collect dry, open pinecones from pine, fir, or spruce trees.
Shake off dirt and debris. For additional cleaning and drying, arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 250°F for approximately 2 hours. Allow to cool completely.
Place the pinecones in a large zip-top bag or reusable storage bag.
Add approximately 20 drops of cinnamon essential oil.
Seal the bag and gently shake to distribute the essential oil.
Allow the pinecones to sit in the sealed bag for 1–2 days.
Remove and arrange in decorative bowls, baskets, wreaths, or holiday centerpieces.
Notes
Make sure pinecones are completely dry before adding essential oils.
Experiment with cinnamon, orange, and clove essential oils for different seasonal fragrances.
Refresh the scent as needed.
Keep scented pinecones away from children and pets. Avoid direct skin contact and don’t use them as fire starters.
