Ingredients
1 tablespoon castile soap
1/2 tablespoon carrier oil (jojoba, sweet almond, or coconut oil)
4 tablespoons water
2 drops essential oil (optional)
Instructions
In a small bowl or jar, stir together 1 tablespoon of castile soap with 4 tablespoons of water until well combined.
Stir in ½ tablespoon of your chosen carrier oil. This helps break down oily makeup and conditions the bristles.
Add 1–2 drops of essential oil if desired. Stir gently to combine.
Dip the dirty brush into the solution and swirl it gently. You’ll start to see makeup releasing from the bristles right away.
If your brushes are extra dirty, let them soak for 2–3 minutes.
Use your fingers to gently work the cleaner through the bristles and break up any stubborn buildup. Then rinse under warm running water until the water runs clear.
Gently squeeze out excess water, reshape the bristles, and lay the brushes flat or hang them upside down to dry completely.
