DIY Toilet Spray (Homemade Poo-Pourri)
DIY toilet spray is a simple, natural way to keep your bathroom smelling fresh without relying on harsh chemicals or synthetic fragrances.
Ingredients
- 20–30 drops of essential oils of choice (lemon, lavender, eucalyptus, etc.)
- 1 tablespoon rubbing alcohol (vodka or witch hazel can be substituted)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin (optional, for a slightly thicker spray)
Distilled water (about 1/3 cup for a 2-ounce bottle) - 2-ounce glass spray bottle
Instructions
Begin by preparing a clean 2-ounce spray bottle. Glass bottles are recommended, as they hold up better with essential oils.
Add one tablespoon of rubbing alcohol to the bottle, followed by one tablespoon of vegetable glycerin if you’re using it. The alcohol helps disperse the essential oils, while the glycerin slightly thickens the spray and helps the scent linger.
Next, add 20–30 drops of your chosen essential oils directly into the bottle. You can adjust this amount depending on how strong you prefer the fragrance.
Carefully fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water, leaving a small amount of space at the top so the mixture can be shaken properly. Secure the spray top and shake well to fully combine all the ingredients.
