Lavender Lotion Bars Recipe

Learn how to make relaxing lavender lotion bars with simple ingredients that nourish the skin.

  1. Pour the olive oil and the beeswax into a double boiler, or a bowl over boiling water.
  2. Place the temperature on low to medium, until the beeswax starts to melt – this process with take around 5-10 minutes.
  3. Once the beeswax is melted and blended, turn down the heat to very low. Or if the mixture feels very hot, turn off heat altogether.
  4. Add coconut oil, shea butter and lavender essential oil (or other essential oils).
  5. Wait a few minutes for the butters to dissolve.
  6. Use an emulsifier blender or a fork to mix and blend the ingredients together.
  7. Pour the mixture into the silicone molds.
  8. Let the lotion bars cool and harden at room temperature.
  9. Gently pop out the lotion bars.
  10. Put the lotion bars into storage tins.
  11. Store in a cool place.

Notes

This recipe makes 16 ounces of lotion bars. I used these molds, which hold 2 ounce each.
