DIY Rice Face Mask

This homemade rice face mask is a gentle, homemade face mask that gives your skin a natural glow and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated!

  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear. This removes any surface starch or dust.
  2. Place the rinsed rice in a pot, cover with water, and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes or until soft. Do not add salt or oil.
  3. Once cooked, strain the rice—but don’t discard the water! Save a few tablespoons of it to help blend the mask.
  4. Add the cooked rice to a blender or food processor with 2–4 tablespoons of the reserved rice water. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  5. Stir in 1–2 drops of your favorite skin-safe essential oil. Skip this step if your skin is sensitive.
  6. Gently rub the mask over clean skin in a circular motion. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  7. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat your face dry. Follow with your usual moisturizer.
