Avoid commercial wax melts and make these DIY wax melts instead! These are made with natural ingredients like beeswax, coconut oil, and essential oils. No synthetic fragrance oils! Warm these natural coconut oil-based melts in a wax warmer and enjoy the aroma of different scents from the essential oil blends.

Instructions

  1. Melt the beeswax and coconut oil in a double boiler. Alternatively, you can use a disposable can or container to melt the beeswax in over the saucepan filled with boiling water. This is a good idea if you don’t have a pan dedicated to making homemade products since beeswax can be difficult to get off of pots and pans.
  2. Once the beeswax and coconut oil is melted, you’ll remove them from the heat and let them cool slightly. Add the essential oils to the warm mixture and mix well.
  3. Then, pour the hot wax into a silicone mold, or whatever mold you would like to use (I’ve made them in ice cube trays). Let the wax cubes set for 30-45 minutes before removing them from the molds. Once the wax melts are set, you can use them as a wax burner.
  4. Store leftover wax melts in an airtight container or mason jar in a cool dry dark place. These ready-made wax melts can be used with any wax melt warmer.
