This gluten-free apple crisp is the perfect blend of sweet, spiced apples and a crunchy, nutty topping that’s ideal for cozy gatherings or a relaxing dessert night at home.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  2. Peel the apples and slice them into even-sized slices.
  3. Pour the lemon juice, maple syrup, and salt over the apples and toss to cover them in the mixture.
  4. Add the sliced apples to a pie or tart pan and top with the butter pieces.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until bubbling and cooked through.
  6. Mix the almond flour, arrowroot powder, nuts, coconut sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in a bowl. Stir to combine.
  7. Add the melted butter and stir until combined.
  8. Spread the topping over the baked apples. 
  9. Return the apple crisp to the oven and bake until the topping is deep golden, about 25-30 minutes. 
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  11. Serve the crisp alone or topped with coconut whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
