Ingredients
3 tablespoons fresh turmeric or 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoons fresh grated ginger or 1 1/2 tablespoons of ginger powder
1 cinnamon stick
1 lemon, sliced
Pinch of black pepper*
2–3 tablespoon raw honey, maple syrup or sweetener of choice
*Black pepper is optional but helps better absorption of curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric.
Instructions
Pour for cups of water into a small saucepan or kettle. Bring to a boil.
Place the dried or fresh herbs and spices into teapot.
Cover with the hot water and cover. Allow the tea steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain the tea and pour it into two mugs.
Add a squeeze of lemon juice, fresh sliced lemon and sweeten with honey.
