Ingredients
1/2cup of dried organic rose petals or rosebuds
1cup of water, distilled
Instructions
Pour the distilled water into a medium pot.
Add the rose petals and add a steaming tray if you have one.
Place a heat proof bowl into the center of the pot. The bowl will collect the rose water.
Place the lid on the pot upside down so that the handle is facing the bowl inside the pot.
Turn the heat onto medium-low and bring the water to a gentle simmer.
Once the water begins to simmer, place a cup of ice cubes on top of the lid.
After 10 minutes of simmering, check the water and replenish with more distilled water if needed.
Once the rose petals have lost their color and the bowl in the middle of the pot has filled with fresh rose water, turn off the heat and remove the pot from the oven to cool.
Allow the rose water to cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, pour the fresh rose water into a storage container.
Store the rose water in a cool dry place for up to six weeks.
