Rose Water Benefits
Rose water is an excellent skin spray that is soothing to inflamed skin, reduces skin rashes and puffiness, and reduces redness. It’s generally safe for most skin types and doesn’t cause skin irritations for most who use it. It’s a great skincare product to add to your skin care routine and leaves your skin feeling soft and soothed.
How To Make Homemade Rose Water
For this DIY, you will need 1/2-1 cup of dried roses, rose buds, or rose petals, and distilled water. You may also use fresh rose petals, but they aren’t always available like dried petals, so for this tutorial, we used dried.

Pour the distilled water into a medium pot. Add the dried rose petals and add a steaming tray if you have one. Next, place a heat proof bowl into the center of the pot. The bowl will collect the rose water.
Place the lid on the pot upside down so that the handle is facing the bowl inside the pot.
Turn the heat onto medium-low and bring the water to a gentle simmer.
Once the water begins to simmer, place a cup of ice cubes on top of the lid. This will speed up the process of making rose water.
After 10 minutes of simmering, check the water and replenish with more distilled water if needed. Once the rose petals have lost their color and the bowl in the middle of the pot has filled with fresh rose water, turn off the heat and remove the pot from the oven to cool.
Allow the rose water to cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, pour the fresh rose water into a storage container. We used a glass dropper bottle, but a spray bottle or a glass jar is a great option too.
Store the rose water in a cool dry place for up to six weeks.
