This copycat Starbucks apple crisp macchiato recipe will make your kitchen smell like a pan of apple crisp deliciousness!
Apple Crisp Simple Syrup Ingredients:
1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Brown Sugar Simple Syrup Ingredients:
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
Froth Ingredients:
1 cup skim or whole milk
Apple Crisp Macchiato Ingredients:
2 tablespoons brown sugar simple syrup
1 cup heated and frothed milk
3/4 cup prepared hot espresso
2 tablespoons apple crisp syrup
Optional for garnish: Ground cinnamon or caramel sauce
Apple Crisp Syrup Instructions:
Bring all of the ingredients to a light boil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Reduce heat to low.
Simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes, or until the mixture coats the back of the spoon.
Brown Sugar Simple Syrup Instructions:
Bring all of the ingredients to a light boil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, or until the brown sugar is melted, and the mixture coats the back of a spoon.
Froth Instructions:
Heat the milk in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat until bubbles form around the edges, about 3-5 minutes.
Once the milk is warmed through, use a frothing wand and whip it for 1 minute. Tilt the pan slightly, and use the frothing wand to aerate the milk until a solid froth forms.
Apple Crisp Macchiato Instructions:
Pour the brown sugar syrup into the bottom of a large mug.
Top it with warmed milk, and foam.
Pour the espresso over the foam.
Drizzle with apple cider syrup, and top with cinnamon or caramel sauce if desired.
