Calendula-Infused Oil Instructions:

  1. Put the dried calendula flowers into the jar about 3/4 of the way full. Then fill the jar with a carrier oil (you can use coconut oil or any other skin-loving oils you like) of your choice.
  2. Place the lid on the jar and let the oil infuse for 4-6 weeks in a cool spot out of direct sunlight.
  3. Once the calendula oil has infused, strain out the flowers from the oil with a mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth.

Quick Heat Infused Instructions:

  1. If you’re looking for a quick method for making infused oil, this one will work, but it’s not as potent as traditional infused oil.
  2. For this method we use heat to infuse the oil. Start by placing the herbs in a crock-pot or double boiler and cover with coconut oil or virgin olive oil, leaving at least an inch or two of oil above the herbs.
  3. Gently heat the herbal oil over very low heat (preferably between 100° and 130° F for up to 4 hours or until the color and fragrance have infused into the oil. Turn off heat and allow the oil to cool.
  4. Once oil is cooled, strain using a fine mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth.
  5. Pour the oil into a clean glass bottle. Label and date the bottle prior to storing.
  6. Store in a cool, dark, dry place for up to six months.

Calendula Salve Recipe Directions:

  1. Pour the organic beeswax and calendula infused oil in a double boiler.
  2. Heat until the beeswax melts and the oil is incorporated into the wax.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat.
  4. Mix in the lavender essential oil.
  5. Pour the salve into a glass jar or tin.
  6. The salve needs to cool before placing a lid on it. Next, label the container and store in a cool, dry place.
