Intro (continued)

I know it’s not all sunshine and roses at TJ’s.
They’ve gotten rid of their fair share of fan favorite dishes over the years too.
Trader Joe’s gives, and it takes away too.
But let’s face it – it gives a whole lot more!
And personally I’m really excited about this first new item hitting shelves…

Caro Sugo Italian tomato-basil pasta sauce

If you’ve been to Trader Joe’s, like, ever, chances are good you’ve tried a few of their excellent pasta sauces.
This one is no different, maybe just a little better – with no added sugar or other weird chemicals, it’s a delicious and healthy addition to any pasta dish.
The basil flavor is delicate but not overwhelmed by the tomato, which I appreciate it.
You’ll love it.

Tarongino orange wine

Ok, you’ll have to supply the orange peels yourself, but this new orange wine from Trader Joe’s is really cool.
Instead of grapes, it’s made from fermented oranges, and it’s a wonderful and citrusy wine to enjoy in the shade on a hot summer afternoon.
Grab a bottle (or three) and get ready for picnic season!

Cinnamon sugar almonds

Do you like almonds?
Do you like cinnamon sugar?
How about a vanilla-toffee coating?
Trader Joe’s new cinnamon sugar almonds are that perfect combination of sweet and salty.
Get several bags. You’ll love them!

Black garlic cream cheese

Cream cheese is usually pretty sweet…but Trader Joe’s has done something really innovative here.
Their new black garlic cream cheese has lots of fermented garlic in it for this beautiful umami flavor.
It’s a unique taste – and I think you’ll like it. (Or at least – it’ll be different!)

Chocolate coffee granola

I don’t think I have to explain this one too deeply – you’ve got granola with heavy overtones of chocolate and coffee.
In fact, the granola is black. That’s how committed they are to the look and feel.
The taste is fun – not as sickly-sweet as a lot of granolas, and it’s pretty coffee-forward…with the chocolate helping balance it out.

Garlic butter Irish potato chips

Chips are great, but have you ever had chips with Irish butter and garlic?
You get a little of that creaminess from the butter in addition to the strong overtones of garlic.
Forget bland snacks – give these a try.

Nocciolini tiny hazelnut meringues

I mean, it’s all in the name, right?
Meringues? Yes please.
Hazelnut flavor? Yes please!
And because they’re tiny, they don’t count, right?
But seriously – they’re light and flavorful, everything you could want in a flavored mini meringue.

Chocolate truffle eggs

For Easter, Trader Joe’s put together a nice spread of chocolate truffle eggs, including flavors like pistachio and dark praline, and wrapped them up nicely to boot.
A perfect addition to any Easter brunch!

Crispy dried watermelon

Dried watermelon has all the taste of watermelon…without all the sticky juice and seeds.
This crispy dried watermelon is a great snack, and I finished a pack at my desk while writing this article. So there!

Easter Joe-Joe’s

Obviously if you know TJ’s, you know and love their Joe-Joe’s (which are basically better Oreos).
But for Easter, TJ’s went all out – dipping some in white chocolate and topping with pink sugar, while other get dunked in milk chocolate and then covered in sprinkles.
It’s like Trader Joe’s knew we all needed an extra good cookie this year!
And now that we’re past Easter, fear not, you can still get the classic Joe-Joe’s!
