More rotten news for anyone who enjoys good, American bourbon…
Right on the heels of the sudden closure of several beloved whiskey distilleries…
Unfortunately now it’s bourbon’s turn as bankruptcies sweep an already weakened American bourbon industry.

Some of the biggest ones:
- Garrard County Distilling Co. in Lancaster, KY
- Luca Mariano Distillery in Danville, KY
- Westward Whiskey in Portland, OR
Plus there was the heartbreaking closure of Black Button Distilling in Rochester, NY earlier this Summer.
The bourbon market has been struggling with oversupply issues for years, but it feels like a big shift is underway and the bottom has dropped out.
One of the big culprits? Tariffs – the bourbon industry is heavily dependent on international sales, especially with weakening domestic demand – and unfortunately tariffs have made that so much harder.
