Arizona no longer has to watch from the sidelines as Buc-ee’s expands across the country. The state’s long-awaited debut follows the opening date tracked in earlier coverage of Arizona’s first Buc-ee’s, and now the biggest question is whether Goodyear will remain the chain’s only Arizona stop.
Buc-ee’s opened at 1001 N. Bullard Avenue in Goodyear on June 22, 2026. The location sits just off Interstate 10 west of Phoenix, putting it along the major highway connecting Arizona with Southern California, New Mexico and Texas.
This is not a normal gas station. The Goodyear travel center spans approximately 74,000 square feet and includes 120 fueling positions. It operates around the clock and offers the full Buc-ee’s experience: freshly carved barbecue, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, fudge, bakery items, fountain drinks, road-trip supplies and an enormous souvenir section.
It is also Buc-ee’s westernmost location, moving the brand much closer to California while giving it a major test in the desert Southwest.
Could another Arizona location follow?
Buc-ee’s has not announced a second Arizona store. That is the most important distinction for anyone seeing rumors about Tucson, Casa Grande or another Phoenix-area suburb: none of those communities currently has a confirmed project.
Still, Arizona looks capable of supporting more than one location. Interstate 10 carries travelers across the entire state, while Interstate 8 and Interstate 40 offer the kind of long-distance highway traffic Buc-ee’s typically wants. Tucson would give the company access to southern Arizona and drivers headed toward New Mexico, while Casa Grande sits at the junction of the Phoenix and Tucson travel markets.
Northern Arizona presents a different opportunity. A location near Interstate 40 could serve travelers moving between California, Flagstaff, New Mexico and the Grand Canyon region. Buc-ee’s already operates along I-40 in Texas, making the corridor a logical long-term possibility.
But Buc-ee’s expansion is deliberate. The company usually looks for large parcels near busy interchanges, room for more than 100 fueling positions and communities willing to support major traffic and infrastructure improvements. Finding the right site can take years.
Goodyear will be the test
For now, Goodyear is Arizona’s Buc-ee’s proving ground. Its location combines fast population growth, Phoenix-area customers and interstate travelers in a way few Arizona properties could match.
If the store continues attracting large crowds after the opening excitement fades, that could strengthen the case for another Arizona travel center. Tucson may be the most obvious candidate, but until Buc-ee’s buys land or enters a formal approval process, it remains speculation.
Arizona finally has its Buc-ee’s. Whether the state gets another will depend on how well Goodyear performs—and whether Buc-ee’s can find another highway site big enough for the beaver.
