Birdcall, a fast-casual chicken chain born in Colorado, plans five restaurants in the greater Indianapolis area as part of its push into the Midwest. The company has signed a franchise agreement and begun looking for locations, with Carmel, Fishers and Westfield among the communities under consideration.
The expansion will introduce another entrant to a busy market for chicken sandwiches. According to Birdcallโs July 22 announcement, the five-store Indianapolis agreement is the chainโs first franchise development deal in the Midwest.

Where Birdcall is looking in Indianapolis
The restaurant group is actively evaluating sites in the Carmel-Fishers-Westfield corridor north of Indianapolis. It is also considering communities in the southern portion of the metropolitan area. The company has not announced a final list of five addresses or opening dates.
Experienced franchise operator Nikunj Patel is leading the development alongside a multi-unit restaurant group. Patel already operates several Nekter Juice Bar locations in the Chicago area, according to the announcement, and is working with partners who have experience managing restaurants across the Midwest.
Five restaurants is the number in the signed agreement, but each opening still requires a suitable location and a completed development process. The three named northern suburbs are search areas, not a promise that each will receive a store.
What diners can expect from Birdcall
The chain serves made-to-order chicken sandwiches, tenders, nuggets and salads. Its restaurant format also includes self-order kiosks and a menu of sides, sauces and milkshakes. Birdcall says the Indianapolis restaurants will feature the same modern design and family-friendly dining approach used at its existing locations.
The brand began in Colorado and has expanded to other states, including Arizona and Texas. Its decision to seek five Indianapolis-area locations signals a deliberate entry into a region where many customers may not yet know the name.
Birdcallโs broader Midwest ambitions include additional states, but those plans should not be confused with the five-store Indiana agreement. The Indianapolis restaurants are a specific franchise commitment, while proposed growth elsewhere is at a different stage.
For diners in Carmel, Fishers, Westfield and the rest of the metro area, the next meaningful update will be an actual site announcement. Until then, there is a confirmed development deal for five Indiana restaurants but no published opening calendar.
