Buc-ee’s fans have plenty to get excited about this month. The cult-favorite travel center chain — famous for its spotless bathrooms, giant gas stations, and Texas-sized snacks — just made major progress on three new stores across Kansas, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

Ruston, Louisiana
The company will break ground on October 24, 2025, for its first-ever Louisiana location in Ruston, marking a major milestone in Buc-ee’s Southern expansion.
The new travel center will span about 74,000 square feet, include over 120 fuel pumps, and is expected to create more than 200 full-time jobs.
Located just off Interstate 20, the store will bring Buc-ee’s famous brisket sandwiches and beaver nuggets to north Louisiana sometime in 2027.
Groundbreaking in Murfreesboro, Tennessee
In Tennessee, city officials and Buc-ee’s executives gathered on October 14, 2025, to officially break ground on a massive new location in Murfreesboro — when it opens, it’ll be the fourth Buc-ee’s in the Volunteer State (two are already open, one’s coming).
The 74,000-square-foot travel center will sit off Interstate 24 and Joe B. Jackson Parkway and will likely open in 2027 based on prior Buc-ee’s groundbreaking-to-opening timelines.
Local officials say the store will bring hundreds of jobs and boost tourism, cementing Middle Tennessee as one of Buc-ee’s fastest-growing markets.
Kansas Joins the Buc-ee’s Map
Meanwhile, Buc-ee’s also broke ground this month on its first-ever Kansas store, located in Kansas City, KS near the Kansas Speedway and off Interstate 70.
The groundbreaking on October 2 ceremony drew large crowds and local media attention as Buc-ee’s officially planted its beaver flag in the Sunflower State.
Just like the Murfreesboro and Ruston locations, the Kansas City location will reportedly mirror the company’s larger “mega travel centers,” offering hundreds of parking spots, dozens of pumps, and signature Buc-ee’s treats like kolaches, jerky, and barbecue.
A Big Month for Buc-ee’s Expansion
October has been one of Buc-ee’s busiest months of the year, with simultaneous groundbreaking projects moving forward across three states.
The chain now operates in over a dozen states and continues to open new sites every few months — fueling speculation about future locations.
From brisket to bathrooms, Buc-ee’s keeps spreading its uniquely Texan brand of road-trip magic farther across America (even as some places try to keep Buc-ee’s out!)
