Arizona is set to get its first taste of the massive travel center chain Buc-ee’s, with construction underway on a new location in Goodyear that’s expected to open this spring. The massive travel center will boast over 74,000 square feet and feature over 120 fuel pumps – and let’s not forget, the best Buc-ee’s snacks.
A massive travel center near Phoenix
The Texas-based chain is building its first Arizona outpost at the southeast corner of Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue, about 18 miles west of downtown Phoenix. The travel center is currently under construction and is scheduled to open on June 22, 2026, according to company officials.
Once completed, the site will span roughly 74,000 square feet and feature 120 fuel pumps, making it one of the largest convenience stores in the region.
The development marks Buc-ee’s continued push westward as the chain expands beyond its Texas roots and into new markets across the United States.
What visitors can expect
Known for its supersized stores and cult following among road-trippers, Buc-ee’s locations are far larger than typical gas stations. The Goodyear store will offer thousands of food and retail items, including Texas-style barbecue, fresh pastries, homemade fudge, and the brand’s well-known “Beaver Nuggets” snack.
The travel center will also operate 24 hours a day and is expected to bring more than 200 full-time jobs to the area once it opens.
Part of a larger expansion
Founded in Texas in 1982, Buc-ee’s has grown into a nationally recognized roadside brand famous for its giant stores and spotless restrooms. The company now operates more than 50 locations across multiple states and continues to open new travel centers as part of a broader nationwide expansion.
With construction underway, the Goodyear project will soon bring the brand’s signature beaver mascot and oversized convenience store experience to Arizona for the first time.
