Burger King has brought stadium-style food to its drive-thrus with a new pretzel-bun burger layered with bacon, crispy onions and nacho cheese sauce. The chain also added a nacho-cheese dipping option for Chicken Fries as part of the same Game Day Menu.
The additions arrived October 6 at participating U.S. restaurants, giving the chain a different pitch than the combo-price debates that have recently frustrated some Burger King customers. This time, the emphasis is on familiar football-game flavors.

What’s inside the Game Day Pretzel Burger?
Burger King starts with a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty, measured before cooking. It adds American cheese, bacon, crispy onions and nacho cheese sauce, then puts the whole combination inside a soft, warm SUPERPRETZEL pretzel bun.
That last detail is the most noticeable departure from a traditional Burger King burger. The pretzel bun gives the sandwich a stadium-snack identity, while the cheese sauce takes the place of more conventional burger condiments.
The other Game Day item is less of a rebuild. Chicken Fries remain the familiar breaded chicken strips, but Burger King serves them with a side of nacho cheese sauce for dipping.
Is this a nationwide menu change?
The chain says both items launched at participating locations across the United States on October 6. Participation matters: an item appearing in a national campaign does not mean every independently operated restaurant is carrying it at the same time.
Burger King did not announce a single national menu price for either new item in its September 29 release. Customers should use their local restaurant menu or app to see availability and pricing before making a trip.
There’s also a Game Day promotion
The company linked the launch to a four-week digital sweepstakes for Royal Perks members, featuring weekly cash prizes of up to $5,000 and Burger King-branded items. The sweepstakes is separate from the new food and has its own eligibility and entry rules, including a scheduled end date of November 1.
The pretzel burger and Chicken Fries provide two different ways to try the nacho-cheese idea: one built into a burger, the other in a dipping cup. Burger King has not presented the launch as a replacement for its regular Whopper or existing Chicken Fries.
