Southern fried chicken chain Bojangles is continuing its push into Texas, adding new restaurants as it works to grow beyond its traditional Southeastern footprint. The North Carolina-based brand has steadily expanded across the Lone Star State in recent years and shows no signs of slowing down.
New restaurants opening in several Texas markets
Bojangles has announced or opened locations in multiple Texas communities, including McKinney, Manor, Celina, Georgetown, Spring, League City, Orange and Seguin. The company also continues to expand in the San Antonio area, where additional locations are under development.
One of the chain’s newest milestones came earlier this year when it opened its first Austin-area restaurant in Manor. Company executives described Central Texas as an important growth market as Bojangles works to introduce its Southern-style menu to new customers.
Texas becomes a key growth market
According to Bojangles, Texas has become one of the company’s most important expansion targets. The chain has signed multiple franchise agreements and development deals aimed at increasing its presence in major metro areas including Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin and San Antonio.
The company currently lists more than 20 Texas locations, a significant increase from just a few years ago when it first entered the state. Additional restaurants are expected to open throughout 2026 as development projects move forward.
Growth extends beyond Texas
Texas is part of a broader national expansion strategy for Bojangles. The chain has announced plans for dozens of new locations across the country and continues entering new markets as it approaches 1,000 restaurants nationwide.
