A major beverage company is preparing to eliminate more than 100 jobs at a South Carolina facility, according to a recently filed worker layoff notice. While the notice was filed this week, the affected employees are not expected to lose their jobs until later this fall.
105 PepsiCo jobs affected
PepsiCo Beverages Sales LLC filed a WARN notice on August 18, 2026, announcing plans to permanently lay off 105 employees at its facility at 6925 N. Main St. in Columbia, South Carolina. The layoffs are scheduled to become effective October 18, 2026.
The filing means the layoffs are not taking place immediately. Instead, employees received advance notice of the upcoming job cuts, with the separations planned for October.
The PepsiCo facility is located in Columbia, where the company operates beverage-related operations serving the surrounding market.
Layoffs add to PepsiCo’s recent cuts
The South Carolina announcement comes as PepsiCo continues to make changes to its operations across the country.
Earlier this summer, the company announced plans to cease warehouse operations at its Tulsa, Oklahoma, production facility. That move is expected to affect 184 warehouse employees, with those workers scheduled to be permanently laid off November 15.
Workers have time before layoffs take effect
For the 105 employees affected in Columbia, the August 18 notice provides more than two months of advance warning before the layoffs take effect.
The WARN Act is designed to provide workers with advance notice of certain large-scale layoffs and business closures, giving employees additional time to prepare for the loss of employment.
The South Carolina filing does not mean the workers have already been terminated. Unless circumstances change, the 105 PepsiCo employees are expected to remain employed until the October 18 effective date. At the time of the notice, PepsiCo hadn’t released any additional details on the planned layoffs.
The latest announcement is another example of how major food and beverage companies continue to restructure their operations while navigating changing business conditions.
