1) Bacon Bits

It makes sense when you read the fine print (“bacon flavored,” etc.), but who would think bacon bits were vegan?
McCormick’s Bac’n Pieces (pictured here) and Betty Crocker’s Bacos are both vegan because they use textured soy flour vs. pig meat.
Note that Bacos does have sugar (so likely bone char) and both have natural flavorings (which could include non-vegan elements), but for all but the biggest sticklers, bacon bits are vegan!

2) Pop Tarts (Unfrosted)

Because the definition of “vegan” varies (see the bacon bits), Pop Tarts won’t call itself vegan.
But the non-frosted ones sure are!

10) SOME McDonald’s Fries

French fries are the salvation of so many vegans and vegetarians!
But McDonald’s fries in the U.S. are NOT vegan because they contain some natural beef flavoring and milk product.
You’d have to go international to get vegan McDonald’s fries. The UK and India have them. So does Australia and Canada, but they may have cross-contamination.
