The next huge wave of factory closures across Florida is building.
After several painful factory closures across Florida earlier this year…this one unfortunately could be even worse.
Especially given the steadily declining economic conditions all across Florida.

Plus, even big names are closing factories in Florisa – showing that the economic malaise isn’t tied strictly to small businesses. Now even the deepest-pocketed competitors are making cutbacks.
Florida recently lost these 2 factories:
- Revlon factory in Jacksonville, at the cost of 127 jobs
- Mizkan America factory in Lake Alfred, with 57 jobs lost
That’s nearly 200 hardworking Floridians out of a job. (And with the holiday season not too far away, too.)
Of course, these closures happen agains the backdrop of longstanding issues – inflation, labor shortages, complicated supply chains, and changing consumer preferences. (These are issues that have impacted both the beauty and food sectors for years.)
Food and beauty producers have also had a tough year, as the trade war’s impacts just keep multiplying. The confusion and complexity as tariffs and retaliatory tariffs stack up…plus the decline in demand for American exports as boycotts take effect…has had a chilling effect on businesses all over the country, not just in Florida.
But ultimately, the impacts here are felt locally by every community that loses jobs, and we can unfortunately add two more to that growing – and sad – list.
