Arizona is about to get its first real taste of Buc-ee’s, and the wait is almost over.
The first Arizona Buc-ee’s is scheduled to open in Goodyear on June 22, 2026, near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue, west of Phoenix. Arizona’s Family reported that the company has already begun mass hiring ahead of the opening, with jobs including cashier, food service, grocery, gift, janitorial, and maintenance positions.
This will not be a small roadside stop.

The Goodyear Buc-ee’s is expected to span about 74,000 square feet and include 120 fueling positions, according to the city of Goodyear. The store is expected to offer the full Buc-ee’s lineup: Texas-style barbecue, homemade fudge, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, freshly baked pastries, snacks, drinks, merchandise, and the oversized bathrooms that helped turn the chain into a road-trip legend.
For Arizona drivers, the location is the real story.
Goodyear sits on the west side of the Phoenix metro area, right along I-10, one of the most important travel routes in the Southwest. That gives Buc-ee’s a prime spot for Phoenix-area residents, California-bound road-trippers, spring training visitors, snowbirds, family travelers, and anyone heading across the desert with an empty gas tank and a craving for brisket.
It also makes the Goodyear store one of Buc-ee’s most important western openings yet.
For years, Buc-ee’s was mostly a Texas obsession. Then it pushed into the Southeast, Midwest, and Mountain West. Arizona changes the map again. It gives the chain a major foothold in the desert Southwest and places the brand closer to California, Nevada, and some of the busiest long-distance travel corridors in the country.
The company is also expected to bring a major employment boost to the West Valley. Arizona’s Family reported that jobs at the Goodyear location are expected to pay between $18 and $23 per hour and include three weeks of paid time off.
Still, the opening could bring some growing pains.
A Buc-ee’s does not quietly blend into a highway exit. With 120 fueling positions, a massive store, and a fan base that treats new openings like events, the Goodyear location is likely to draw huge crowds when it opens.
That is part of the appeal. Buc-ee’s has become famous because it makes a gas stop feel like a destination.
Soon, Arizona drivers will not have to hear about the hype from Texans anymore. They will be able to pull off I-10 in Goodyear and decide for themselves whether Buc-ee’s is really worth the obsession.
