White Castle has closed two Southern Nevada restaurants, ending runs for locations that had served customers in the Las Vegas area. The Strip location had been open for over a decade; the Henderson location had only been open since 2022.
The affected restaurants were the Casino Royale location on the Las Vegas Strip and the Henderson location on Marks Street. Both closures took effect on March 30.
For fans who associated White Castle with late-night Las Vegas cravings, the closures may feel like the end of an era.
Which locations are still open
The important detail for Nevada customers: White Castle is not leaving the Las Vegas area.
Four locations remain open: a Las Vegas Boulevard location across from the Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, the Paradise Road location, the downtown Fremont Street spot, and the travel-center site in Jean.
That means the closures are significant, but they are not a full market exit.
Why the closures matter
Restaurant closures hit differently when the brand has a loyal fan base, and White Castle definitely does.
The Casino Royale location, in particular, carried extra visibility because of its tourist-heavy surroundings on the Strip. For some visitors, it was part of the Vegas food experience — quick, familiar and open to people looking for something casual between bigger meals.
Henderson’s closure also matters for locals who had a more neighborhood-style White Castle option outside the Strip, even if that location was a relatively recent addition.
What happened behind the scenes
Reports pointed to a licensee-related change. Terrible Herbst — the Las Vegas-based gas station and convenience store chain, and the first licensee in White Castle history — offered all five of its valley White Castle locations to the company. White Castle chose to acquire three of them, and the remaining two closed.
The same report said employees from the closed stores were offered positions at other locations.
That gives the story a slightly different shape than a simple “brand is struggling” closure. The local footprint is changing, but White Castle still has a meaningful presence in the market.
What customers should do now
For Nevada customers, the practical question is which White Castle is closest now.
Four options remain: Las Vegas Boulevard near the Hard Rock, Paradise Road, Fremont Street and Jean. Depending on where customers live or stay, one of those should be accessible, though some may require a longer drive than before.
Still, for Las Vegas-area slider fans, the biggest relief is this: two locations are gone, but the Castle has not disappeared from Southern Nevada.
