Beloved California restaurant prepares to close iconic location after more than three decades

After serving guests for more than 30 years, one of California’s most recognizable restaurants is preparing to close the doors to a location that has become synonymous with the brand.

The closure marks the end of an era for longtime customers, though the company says it is already looking toward its next chapter with future expansion plans.

A landmark location is saying goodbye

Crustacean Beverly Hills, part of the House of An restaurant family, will permanently close its longtime Bedford Drive location on October 31, 2026. The restaurant has operated in Beverly Hills for more than three decades and became known for its upscale Vietnamese cuisine, celebrity clientele, and signature garlic noodles.

According to the restaurant, the closure comes after the building was sold and its lease was not renewed. Although the restaurant was initially expected to close at the end of July, it secured a short-term lease extension that will allow it to remain open through Halloween.

Expansion plans are already underway

While the Beverly Hills restaurant is closing, House of An emphasized that the decision is tied to the property rather than the business itself. The company says it is actively pursuing new locations for the Crustacean brand.

Future restaurants are being explored in markets including Pasadena, Calabasas, Honolulu, Sun Valley, Idaho, and Atlanta, signaling that the brand’s expansion plans remain firmly in place.

End of Beverly Hills era

For many loyal guests, however, the Beverly Hills location holds a special place in the restaurant’s history. Over the years, it became a destination for celebrations, business dinners, and visitors seeking one of Southern California’s most iconic dining experiences.

Although the Beverly Hills location’s final chapter is approaching, House of An says the Crustacean brand will continue evolving as it looks to bring its signature menu and dining experience to new communities in the years ahead.
