California businesses have been taking it on the chin lately.
And even the supposedly recession-resistant alcohol industry is getting slammed.
It’s just rough out there.

And unfortunately the pain just keeps coming.
An iconic California distillery – J.J. Pfister Distilling Company in Sacramento – recently closed its doors and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The California alcohol industry is under an incredible amount of pressure right now – a huge distributor, RNDC, recently decided to exit the California market all together, Canada is boycotting US alcohol exports due to the trade war, and of course there are all the ongoing issues of oversupply and slumping domestic demand.
It’s no wonder Pfister decided to fold up shop.
