Intro

White Claw is utterly dominant.
How dominant?
About 1 in every 2 hard seltzers sold in the US is a White Claw!
But being the most popular doesn’t mean it’s the best. Fans of seven other brands can make a strong case.
Here they are…

Ranch Water

The case: OK, we’ll forgive Ranch Water for not using tequila (which is what’s used in the original ranch water cocktail in West Texas). The forgiveness comes because of how refreshing and clean tasting its hard seltzer is. We recommend starting with the Original and salting to taste thereafter!

Cutwater

The case: Cutwater actually has a huge line of canned cocktails. So you could get some flavors that pack a harder punch (we’re definitely looking at you and your 13% ABV, Cutwater Long Island Iced Tea). But the tequila-based Cutwater Ranch Water (either Watermelon or Prickly Pear) is a good alternative to White Claw.

High Noon

The case: High Noon offers both vodka-based and tequila-based seltzers. A big selling point is that it uses real fruit juice. Yum!

Kirkland Signature Hard Seltzer

The case: This is for those Costco stans out there. Yes, Kirkland Signature has its own hard seltzer line for those who don’t care so much about branding and just want what’s in the can!

Bud Light Seltzer

The case: For those who want to take a break from their favorite light beer, they’ve got four flavors: mango, strawberry, lemon lime, and black cherry. Maybe not the one for seltzer snobs, though.

Topo Chico

The case: The hard version of the best fizzy water out there! For bonus street cred, that original West Texas ranch water we mentioned earlier was made with Topo Chico, so definitely try the Ranch Water flavor!

Truly Hard

The case: Truly is the #2 hard seltzer to White Claw. If you like your hard seltzer super sweet, you’ve got to try Truly! Start with the Citrus Squeeze!

White Claw

We couldn’t leave without giving some love to the #1 hard seltzer out there.
There are cases for the other seven contenders, but White Claw has that “then why are we the best-selling one?” trump card.
What do you think? Is White Claw the best or is it one of the alternatives?
