If you’re watching your sodium intake, chances are good that you preemptively wrote off Krispy Kreme on the assumption that their doughnuts (you know, fried dough) would have too much salt.
And that’s a shame, because Krispy Kreme surprisingly actually has a lot of low-sodium options.
So you can get your doughnut fix and still keep that sodium intake low!
I’ve compiled a full list of everything on the Krispy Kreme menu that meets the guidelines for a low-sodium diet (that is, 140 mg or less of sodium per serving).

Is every food at Krispy Kreme low-sodium?
No. Of course not. A low-sodium diet means you’re skipping out on several of the more esoteric doughnuts (their blueberry cake doughnut, cake batter doughnut, cinnamon roll, and some of the seasonal flavors), but honestly there’s a surprising number of doughnuts that are available to anyone watching their salt intake.
You get almost all of the filled doughnuts, plus every chocolate doughnut, all the minis and doughnut holes, plus the most traditional flavors (like the original glazed) and at least some of the seasonal flavors too!
Honestly, that’s a LOT more low sodium-friendly than I think just about anyone would have assumed before going through the menu. It’s a much more expansive low-sodium menu than Dunkin’s, as far as doughnuts go.

Low sodium drink choices at Krispy Kreme
Just like with doughnuts, a substantial majority of Krispy Kreme’s drinks feature 140 mg or less of sodium, so they’re appropriate for a low-sodium diet.
The drinks which don’t fit in are almost all caramel-flavored (caramel latte and caramel mocha latte, whether hot, iced, or frozen; Ghirardelli hot chocolate, vanilla latte, mocha latte, etc.), and they’re all high-calorie too. (But don’t worry, you can still get your caramel fix – the caramel iced coffee is a-ok!)
But seriously, almost everything else is available to you if you’re on a low-sodium diet, which is awesome. Coffees, lattes, chillers; drinks that are hot, iced, and frozen. This is the most expansive low-sodium drink menu I’ve seen among the breakfast chains.
I’ve broken out the list into hot, iced, and frozen drinks. Let’s start with hot (all amounts are for Krispy Kreme’s “small” – 12 fl oz):

Hot drinks are the category where you lose the most options due to high sodium content – caramel latte and caramel mocha latte, the traditional latte and vanilla latte, plus the mocha latte and the Ghirardelli hot chocolate.
So no hot lattes – but you still do get all the traditional coffees plus the cappuccino, and much fewer restrictions in the iced and frozen categories.

The only drinks you miss out on here are the iced caramel latte and the iced caramel mocha latte – and if you need that caramel fix, you can still get the caramel mocha iced latte!

Almost everything frozen is available for those following a low-sodium diet, the two exceptions being the frozen caramel latte and frozen caramel mocha latte. Otherwise, enjoy any of the frozen lattes and any of the frozen chillers, too!

Yes, all Krispy Kreme donuts have salt in them. But most of them have very little salt in them, so if you’re on a low-sodium diet, almost all of them are still available to you because they have less than 140 mg of sodium.
It all depends on the diet, but generally speaking, yes you can eat Krispy Kreme on a diet. Most of their donuts are low-sodium, and their mini donuts are generally in the 90-130 calorie range, so they should work for most people who are counting calories. Obviously you can’t eat an unlimited number of them, but a few in moderation from time to time should be fine on most diets.
