An Ohio restaurant that has served diners for more than two decades is preparing to close its doors, marking another reduction in the footprint of a well-known national chain.
Maggiano’s Little Italy has confirmed it will permanently close its Beachwood, Ohio, restaurant on September 27, 2026, as the company continues to streamline its operations nationwide. The restaurant, located at Eton Chagrin Boulevard, has been a fixture in the Cleveland-area dining scene for more than 20 years.
Lease expiration prompts closure
According to the company, the Beachwood restaurant is closing because its lease is expiring and will not be renewed. Brinker International, the parent company of Maggiano’s Little Italy, said the decision is part of its ongoing strategy to optimize its real estate portfolio rather than a sign that the chain is going out of business.
The Beachwood location is one of two Maggiano’s restaurants announced for closure in late July. The company’s Garden City, New York, restaurant is also scheduled to close on September 28, 2026, one day after the Ohio location.
Chain continues to reduce its footprint
With the two closures, Maggiano’s will operate 48 restaurants nationwide, continuing a trend of trimming underperforming or expiring lease locations. Over the past 18 months, the company has also closed restaurants in Virginia and California while maintaining operations in markets it considers stronger long-term investments.
Company officials have emphasized that Maggiano’s remains committed to the brand and continues serving guests across dozens of locations in the United States.
End of an era for Beachwood diners
The Beachwood restaurant has been a popular destination for Italian-American favorites, family celebrations and business gatherings since opening in the early 2000s. Its upcoming closure marks the end of a longtime presence in the community and reflects broader changes taking place across the casual dining industry as restaurant companies reevaluate their real estate strategies, consumer demand and operating costs.
Guests wishing to dine at the Beachwood location will have until September 27 before the restaurant permanently closes.
