Texas just can’t seem to catch a break.
Fresh off losing several factories – and with retail spending cratering – now five grocery stores are closing.

Under pressure
It’s ugly out there right now – between tariffs, inflation, and disrupted supply chains, grocery stores are under tremendous pressure.
It’s no surprise that some are throwing in the towel, even in business-friendly Texas.
Here are the closings:
- Randalls – Meyerland (Houston) – Closing August 16
- Royal Blue Grocery – Congress Avenue, Austin – Closed June 13
- Kroger – Dickinson – Closed June 10
- Kroger – Hedwig Village (Houston) – Closing September 30
- Kroger – Spring Branch (Houston) – Closing September 30
