We used data from the World Health Organization.
Specifically, the alcohol per capita consumption for those aged 15+ years.
Pretty straightforward, we ranked the countries based on how much they drink per person.

A whopping 21 of the top 25 alcohol-drinking countries were in Europe.
That includes Romania, whose citizens drink almost 1,000 drinks a year each!
The non-Europeans were Uganda and Seychelles from Africa, Laos from Asia, and The Cook Islands from Australia/Oceania.
And the U.S. was outside the top 25 at number 37.

Personally, I wasn’t expecting so many European countries. I mean, I expected a LOT, but not 21 of the top 25!
