Introduction

Veganism is one of the most popular diets in the United States, and I think we’ve all noticed more and more restaurants and grocery stores catering to the vegan community’s needs.
If you’re vegan and want to know where to live – or if you’ve just noticed a lot more vegan-focused menu items wherever you live – then this slideshow is for you.
We looked at veganism’s prevalence (what percentage of the population conducts vegan-focused google searches), plus per capita measures of vegan restaurants, meetup groups, and broader animal welfare groups.
These data are all courtesy of a 2021 study from San Diego State University.
