Dunkin’ customers have no shortage of opinions about their favorite coffee orders, and our guide to the most popular drinks at Dunkin’ shows how loyal people can be to a routine. But a recent Reddit thread suggests some fans are just as nostalgic for an old breakfast bargain.
A September 18 Reddit post with nearly 400 upvotes looked back at the days when customers could get two Wake-Up Wraps for $2. “They’ll never bring it back cause it was too good of a deal,” one commenter wrote, while others compared what a single wrap costs at their local stores today.

The same wrap can cost very different amounts
The discussion quickly demonstrated why national fast-food price debates can get messy. One person reported paying $2.79 for an egg-and-cheese Wake-Up Wrap, while others said bacon versions cost more than $3 and one commenter reported a local price of $3.99. Those figures are customer reports, not a national price list, but the range helped fuel the nostalgia.
For fans who remember two wraps for $2, even a modest current price can feel expensive by comparison. That does not necessarily mean the present-day menu is a bad deal; it means an unusually memorable promotion set a reference point that is hard to forget. For longtime customers, yesterday’s bargain can become the standard every new promotion has to beat.
Dunkin’ is still leaning into value
The chain has not abandoned meal deals. Dunkin’s current $6 Meal Deal includes a Bacon, Egg and Cheese sandwich, hash browns and a medium hot or iced coffee at participating locations. The company was still promoting that bundle at the end of September, making it a direct counterpoint to the idea that inexpensive breakfast has vanished entirely.
Reddit users noticed that, too. In another discussion about the meal deal, one customer called the $6 bundle a steal because the sandwich alone was close to that price at their store. The deal is different from two $1 wraps, but for someone who wants coffee, potatoes and a full sandwich, the value equation can still work.
Old deals have a long memory
Fast-food promotions are temporary by design, but customers do not forget the best ones just because the menu moves on. When a chain once sold a snack-sized breakfast for a dollar apiece, every later price gets compared with that memory.
That is why the Reddit thread feels less like a revolt against Dunkin’ and more like a love letter to a deal that disappeared. Fans still want the food. They just remember a time when saying yes to two Wake-Up Wraps barely required checking the price.
