The bad news keeps piling up in Texas.
Factories keep closing across the state…
The difficulties have even spread to grocery stores, which are shutting down too…
And now even restaurants are taking it on the chin.
In fact, 19 restaurants across Texas just declared bankruptcy.

Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe, which operates those 19 restaurants (plus one more in another state), filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Wednesday.
Restaurants have had a rough go of it for the last several years.
First there were the labor shortages, stubborn inflation, and complicated supply chains – all issues that really popped up over the last five years…
And of course there’s the broader shift away from chain restaurants and toward more local (and often healthier) options as Americans take advantage of delivery apps and greater choice.
Add in the more recent issues of the trade war and resulting economic downturn, and you’ve got a perfect storm.
A storm that has now claimed its newest victim – with restaurants in:
- Fort Worth (three stores)
- Arlington
- Cedar Hill
- Dallas
- Garland
- Irving
- Lubbock
- Mesquite
- Spring
- Tyler
- Burleson
- College Station
- Harker Heights
- Lewisville
- McKinney
- Round Rock
- Stafford
That’s a big impact on the restaurant scene across Texas.
Bankruptcy is a tricky process, so we’ll keep on top of this story to see what happens as things play out.
But regardless, it’s more bad news for the already struggling restaurant industry.
