This is some rough news out of Ohio.
Fresh off layoffs announced at three factories in the state, still more jobs are threatened as three local restaurants declare bankruptcy – two in Columbus, and one near Cincinnati.

More specifically, Bravo Brio – the beloved Italian chain with restaurants around the country – just declared bankruptcy for the second time in five years.
The company’s explanation, unfortunately, reads like a litany of current, well-known issues facing the restaurant industry: Increasing food costs, inflation, and higher labor costs.
It’s a toxic mix that is pushing chain restaurants all over the country, and it’s no wonder that we’ve seen so many bankruptcies, closures, and mass layoffs so far in 2025.
(Even among brands that are, let’s face it, much better known than Bravo Brio.)
Bravo Brio intends to close restaurants as a result of the bankruptcy process – whether or not that includes any of the three Ohio restaurants remains to be seen.
Is Bravo Brio your favorite under-followed Italian chain? Would you be sad to see them gone? Or do you think Olive Garden is better? Leave a comment and let us know!
