As if Texas needed any more bad news.
Fresh off losing several factories…
And with increasingly grim news from retail…
Now the state is losing dozens of restaurants.

More specifically, Salad and Go – which had previously doubled to 140 restaurants over the past two years – just announced plans to close 41 restaurants across Texas and Oklahoma.
Salad and Go announced that the closures will center on Houston, San Antonio, and Austin – to allow it to focus on core restaurants in Dallas and Oklahoma.
When ambitious companies suddenly ratchet back their growth plans, that’s a real warning about the state of the economy.
After all, the food industry is facing spiking costs, labor shortages, and increasingly messy supply chains given fragmentation from the trade war. All of those would be difficult enough, if they weren’t also paired with declines in spending and demand as Americans tighten their belts for a slowing economy.
It’s no wonder Salad and Go is pulling back. Who else is? Leave a comment and share!
