Even if you haven’t been there, you may have seen people gushing about it on social media.
Spoiler alert: It’s deserved!

A regular gas station has 6 to 12 pumps.
But Buc-ee’s goes Texas big with 80 to 120 pumps!
Plus, it’s added Tesla superchargers to about half of its stores (what better place to wait as an electric vehicle charges up?).

Buc-ee’s is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. 366 on Leap Year.
Many of the other places we associate with “open all the time” aren’t.
Even Wal-Mart threw in the towel.
They’re now typically open from 6AM to 11PM and close on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I mean, that’s still pretty darn good…but it’s not Buc-ee’s good!

OK, we didn’t say PRETTIEST bathrooms (that picture is from the New Braunfels, Texas Buc-ee’s).
This is the one that won Cintas’s 2012 “America’s Best Restroom” contest.
But if you’re like my family, big, clean bathrooms is maybe the most important factor in where we stop for gas.
A Buc-ee’s billboard agrees: “Top Two Reasons to Stop at Buc-ee’s: #1 and #2.”

Its Texas Round Up barbecue counter isn’t some sort of pre-packaged affair.
As any barbecue aficionado knows, you can’t fake time.
And Buc-ee’s smokes its star meat, brisket, for at least 12 to 14 hours.
You can even order a whole brisket for carryout.
“Fresh hot brisket on the board!”

The largest Buc-ee’s is in Luling, Texas, coming in at 75,000 square feet (that’s over 20,000 square feet larger than the Florida one pictured above!). It replaced the original Buc-ee’s store there in June 2024.
Others like the ones in New Braunfels, Texas and Sevierville, Tennessee aren’t far behind.
It takes a store as big as a typical supermarket to house all the goodies (the BBQ, the homemade fudge, the beef jerky, the Beaver Nuggets, etc.) you can get at Buc-ee’s!
