McDonald’s just announced a major menu shift that goes into effect on January 7, 2025.
It’s got the kinda confusing name of the “McValue Platform.”
But we’ll make it easy on you, starting with exactly what it is and then list the key changes.

Think of the McValue Platform as a more complicated (and expensive) grandkid of the original Dollar Menu.
Here are the major pieces:
1) Buy One, Add One for $1 (This is brand new)
2) $5 Meal Deal
3) Local Deals
4) In-App Exclusive Deals
Let’s break each down separately…

During the breakfast hours, you can mix and match these four announced items:
Sausage McMuffin
Sausage Biscuit
Sausage Burrito

During the lunch and dinner hours, you can mix and match these four announced items:
6-piece Chicken McNuggets
Double Cheeseburger
McChicken

The $5 Meal Deal has been super popular, so they’re extending it through the Summer of 2025.
If you haven’t seen it, for your Abe Lincoln, you get a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink.

Local deals that are done on a franchise by franchise basis are obviously also still in the mix.
Not sure why they’re even making a big deal about this part.

And, of course, since McDonald’s would love you to use the MyMcDonald’s app like people use the Starbucks app, there will continue to be deals to encourage you to use the app.
