Intro

Starbucks recently announced that it would be streamlining it’s menu, with both drink and food choices going down by about 30% by the end of 2025.
The menu has gotten so ridiculously large that it really is hard to navigate.
I humbly submit my suggestions for 5 drinks Starbucks should get rid of immediately.

Peppermint Mocha

We gotta start the cuts somewhere, and we may as well start with this too-sweet concoction.
A grande effectively takes a latte and adds four pumps of mocha to get to a Caffe Mocha and then four pumps of peppermint on top of that (plus chocolate curls).
That’s excessive for barista and drinker alike.
Same goes for the Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha.

Hot Chocolate

As a huge fan of the liquid chocolate gold, I don’t necessarily object to Starbucks carrying hot chocolate. But it’s just not that good.
Dunkin’s is considerably better and Caribou Coffee’s is otherworldly (they melt real chocolate)!

Pineapple Passionfruit Refresher

So many cold fruit-tinged drinks at a coffee shop!
Refreshers, iced teas, lemonades, iced energy drinks. And all with so many variations.
Let’s reconsider the Pineapple Passionfruit Refresher first.
But if you were adamant about the Strawberry Acai or Mango Dragonfruit varieties, I wouldn’t put up too big of a fight.

Brewed Coffees

Yep, fans of regular old brewed coffee know that Starbucks has a lukewarm batch or two ready for you in the morning.
But we can end the charade (and I’m guessing waste at the end of shifts) and have fans order an Americano instead.

About 20 Frappuccinos and Creme Frappuccinos

I currently count 15 Coffee Frappuccino variants and 14 Creme Frappuccino variants.
Can we get down to five or fewer of each?
I don’t really care which ones get the boot. Pistachio, Caramel, Caffe Vanilla, Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Creme, Double Chocolaty Chip Creme…whatever.
You decide.
