New York shoppers have several new food recalls to check before the next grocery run.
Recent FDA and USDA notices include products sold in New York, shipped nationwide, or available through major retailers and online platforms that New Yorkers use every day.
And with new reports highlighting growing food insecurity (plus several recent store closures), these problems unfortunately seem to be getting worse.

Recalls everywhere
D’Dioses Fruit Pops recalled 3.7-ounce popsicles because they may contain undeclared milk, pecans, pistachios, Yellow #5 and Red #40. That matters for anyone with allergies or sensitivities, and the FDA notice specifically says the recalled products were distributed to grocery stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. The affected products include flavors such as coco, fresa con leche, arroz con leche, mango, tamarindo, pistachio, cookies and cream, piña colada and more, if they were produced before April 27, 2026.
Another recall may already be sitting in freezers across the state. Champion Foods recalled certain batches of Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread because of possible Salmonella contamination tied to recalled milk powder. The affected products were sold nationwide at retailers including Costco, Walmart, Kroger, Target, Meijer, Publix, UNFI and others. Shoppers should check single packs with UPC 87037500511 and sell-by dates from February 2027 through April 2027, plus 2-packs with UPC 870375005098 and sell-by dates from February 2027 through March 2027.
Snack cabinets are also part of the concern. Bazzini recalled certain lots of SkinnyDipped Dark Chocolate Coconut Almond Bites because they may contain undeclared peanuts. The FDA says the recalled products were distributed nationwide through retailers, with some also given out as complimentary samples. That makes this one especially important for New York households with peanut allergies. The recall covers several package sizes with best-by dates in December 2026.
A New York company is also behind a recall involving moringa capsules sold online. Total Nutrition Inc. of Deer Park recalled TNVitamins Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood and Doctor’s Pride Complete Green Superfood Ultra Potent Moringa Capsules because of possible Salmonella contamination. This recall is tied to an active multistate outbreak that, as of late May 2026, had reached 119 confirmed infections across 36 states and resulted in 32 hospitalizations — making it more than a precautionary measure. The recalled products were distributed nationally through Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, Target and the company’s websites. Affected lots include TNVitamins lots 2507199, 2512-304 and 2793, and Doctor’s Pride lot 2507199.
There is also an existing freezer recall worth checking if you shop at Aldi. Rosina Food Products, a West Seneca, New York company, recalled about 9,462 pounds of Bremer Family Size Italian Style Meatballs because the ready-to-eat frozen meatballs may contain metal. The recall was announced on February 22, 2026, and while it is not a new notice, the product has a 15-month shelf life and a best-by date of Oct. 30, 2026, meaning bags may still be in home freezers. The 32-ounce bags were shipped to Aldi stores nationwide and bear establishment number EST. 4286B inside the USDA mark of inspection.
What to do if you find any recalled products
Do not consume them. Check the UPC, lot code, best-by date or sell-by date, then return the item to the store or follow the company’s refund instructions.
For New York shoppers, the practical question is whether any of these are already in the freezer, pantry or delivery-order stash. With popsicles, cheese bread, chocolate snacks, supplements and frozen meatballs all on the list, this is a good week to check labels before serving your next snack or meal.
