Intro

Buc-ee’s is probably the most beloved convenience store chain in the US!
I mean, what’s not to love?
The food…
The merch…
The lifestyle!
And fortunately, there are loads more Buc-ee’s incoming…

Intro (continued…)

But like any company that’s been around for a long while, from time to time Buc-ee’s has revamped its menu and let go of some old dishes that were no longer working out for the company.
It’s disappointing, for sure – but that’s life!
Here are six foods they recently discontinued…

Pastrami Reuben Sandwich

Huge disappointment here – Buc-ee’s’ Reuben was one of my go-to sandwiches because it was so big and flavorful.
(Plus, it was a great value at just a few bucks.)
A good Reuben is hard to find, especially when I’m on a roadtrip.

Green Hatch Chile Burrito

For those liking a little extra spice with their breakfast, the green hatch chile burrito was an obvious choice.
It was delicious and flavorful – and unfortunately now it’s all gone.
(Fortunately, Buc-ee’s does have plenty of other delicious breakfast items – think kolaches, biscuits, and burritos.)

Frito Pie Burrito

The Frito pie burrito was one of Buc-ee’s weirder menu items, yet still oddly endearing in its own way.
If you’ve never had Frito pie, I highly recommend – usually it’s Fritos, chili, and cheese, with a variety of other fixings (often salsa, onions, rice, jalapenos).
It’s good – and the burrito was great – so it’s sad to see the burrito go away!

Red Pepper Monterey Jack Sausage Kolache

Kolaches are some of my very favorite pastries – basically they’re a pocket of dough with delicious (usually savory) fillings inside.
You would have loved the combination of cheese, sausage, and spice in this one.
(But fortunately, they do still have several more kolaches on the Buc-ee’s menu.)

Ham and Cheese Kolache

If the red pepper kolache got shut down for being too weird, maybe the ham and cheese kolache got shut down for being too boring?
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love me a good ham and cheese. But generally I reserve my kolaches for something a little more imaginative.

Jalapeno Cheese Sausage Biscuit

Another great spicy breakfast food removed.
It’s disappointing for sure.
(But let’s face it – as long as the chopped brisket sandwich is around, I’ll still keep coming back.)

Summary

So there you have it – six Buc-ee’s foods that are probably gone forever.
It’s disappointing for sure, and what’s more – I know I’ve only just scratched the surface.
Which brings me to an important question…
