Information gathering

To identify these locations, I checked through Whole Foods press releases, independent reporting, and employed a fair amount of my own sleuthing.
Some of these locations have recently opened, while some are opening in the near future.
If there’s anything I missed, make sure to let me know in the comments, and I’ll update the article!
With that…
On to the list, starting with:
Shutterstock
#1: Boynton Beach, Florida

Address: 7395 Boynton Beach Boulevard, Boynton Beach, FL 33437
Population: 81,267 (as of 2023)
This Whole Foods just opened on December 10th to much fanfare.
It’s over 40,000 square feet of delicious organic – and often locally-sourced – groceries.
No more driving to West Palm or Delray Beach for organic shopping!

#2: Stamford, Connecticut

Address: 110 High Ridge Road, Stamford, CT 06905
Population: 136,226
Stamford’s Whole Foods just opened – like, literally on December 12th – and joins a Saks 5th Avenue on High Ridge Road. It’s nearly 45,000 square feet and follows a roughly two year process since Whole Foods announced in April 2022 that it would be opening a Stamford location.
Congratulations, Stamford!

#3: Nashua, New Hampshire

Address: 272 Daniel Webster Highway, Nashua, NH 03060
Population: 91,003
Nashua’s actually bigger than I remember it, but that’s neither here nor there. Its new Whole Foods (the second in Nashua) just opened on December 10th.

#4: Phoenix, Arizona

Address: 12500 N Tatum Boulevard, Phoenix, AZ 85032
Population: 1.65 million
This new Whole Foods opened in October via relocation from Whole Foods’ older store in Paradise Valley. It’s a whopping 50,358 square feet, so a clear expansion in space. Given its size, it won’t surprise you to learn that Phoenix has several Whole Foods stores scattered throughout the area.

#5: Seekonk, Massachusetts

Address: Fall River Avenue, under construction
Population: 15,725
The population stat above is a little misleading, because Seekonk itself is right on the border of Rhode Island and is functionally a suburb of Providence. So there’s a lot more population in the area than you’d imagine by reading that there’s less than 16,000 residents!
This Whole Foods will be part of the Black Goose Market Place, which is under construction (tentatively expected to wrap up sometime in 2026), so there’s a while to wait yet.
Shutterstock
#6: Falls Church, Virginia

Address: 103 E. Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046
Population: 14,685
Falls Church is an independent city within Fairfax County, Virginia. And while the city itself is small – Fairfax County has a population of 1.1 million. So don’t be fooled by the tiny population of Falls Church itself.
I have a cousin who lives there and can speak to the fact that Falls Church is very well-to-do – a great location for any store.
This one’s a relocation of the Whole Foods on 7511 Leesburg Pike (Idylwood Plaza), and should open around February 2025.

Summary

So there you have it: 6 new Whole Foods that have either recently opened or are poised to open in the reasonably near future.
If you live in one of these lucky cities, congratulations. Not only should Whole Foods bring good jobs and healthy food, but in my experience Whole Foods usually kicks off a cycle of additional high-end retailers “following along” – so these Whole Foods could help transform the broader shopping experience in each of these locations too!
Which brings me to an important question:
