Trader Joe’s fans are often willing to drive long distances to stock up on their favorite products. Soon, many of those shoppers may find a new store opening much closer to home.
Trader Joe’s is continuing its rapid expansion across the United States, with plans to open 25 new stores in 14 states as demand for the popular grocery chain remains strong.
Trader Joe’s growth push gains momentum
The California-based retailer recently added nine more locations to its development pipeline, bringing the total number of announced stores currently in the works to 25. While opening dates have not yet been announced, the company has confirmed that all locations are moving forward.
The expansion follows years of steady growth that have helped Trader Joe’s build a loyal customer base around its private-label products, frozen foods, and value-focused pricing.
Trader Joe’s now operates more than 600 stores nationwide and continues to expand into both established metropolitan areas and fast-growing suburban markets.
New locations planned across the country
The upcoming stores will be spread across a wide range of states, including Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Utah, Washington, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, California, and New Jersey.
Among the newly announced locations are stores planned for Sarasota, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; Syracuse, New York; Farmington Hills, Michigan; University Heights, Ohio; and West Jordan, Utah. Additional locations are planned for cities such as Orlando, West Palm Beach, Tucson, Seattle, and Anaheim Hills.
Popular grocer continues to attract customers
Trader Joe’s has become one of the most recognizable grocery brands in the country thanks to its unique product selection and cult-like customer following. Viral products, seasonal releases, and limited-edition items frequently generate significant attention online.Â
The latest expansion signals that the company sees continued opportunity for growth despite increasing competition in the grocery sector. For shoppers in communities slated to receive new stores, the announcements mean a Trader Joe’s location could soon be much closer to home.
