By now we’re used to all kinds of celebrity drink offerings.
Usually they’re alcoholic, though.
Think Casamigos with George Clooney, Teremana Tequila with The Rock, Aviation Gin with Ryan Reynolds, Barrymore Wines with Drew Barrymore, and Proper No. Twelve with Conor McGregor.
We could go on and on with this one, so we’ll stop there.
But Ben Stiller is getting into soda…and he actually has a good idea…

Stiller’s Soda actually sounds like a good idea.
If you’ve tried any of the prebiotic sodas that have hit the shelves over the past few years, you know what we’re talking about.
Think similar-sounding brands like Poppi (Pepsi), Olipop, and Simply Pop (Cocoa-Cola). These prebiotic sodas (aka functional sodas) are named for the prebiotic fibers they contain…i.e. “good bacteria” already living in your belly.
They’re marketed as a “better for you” alternative to diet soda.
The issue is the taste. It’s not especially good and not quite what you’re expecting from a true soda.
What Stiller and his partner Alex Doman (former CEO of Avec Drinks, which made soft drinks and cocktail mixers before it ran into financial issues) are doing is different.
It’s marketed as a “classic soda for a new world”…so lower in calories and sugar, but actually tasting like soda pop.
They’ve started with three flavors: root beer, lemon lime, and maybe most exciting, the shirley temple.
It’s distributed in NYC and also on Amazon for now. Expect it to expand from there.
If you’ve already tried it, let us knowhow it was in the comments section!
