Looking to add some extra deliciousness to your life? Grape syrup could be just the thing for you!
It’s the perfect way of adding a fruity goodness to many different things, providing the sweet and tangy grape flavor that’s perfect for salads, beverages, ice cream, and much more! Grape syrup is super convenient and easy to use, saving you the trouble of pureeing or squeezing grapes!
Now, as awesome as grape syrup is, not all brands offer high-quality products – in fact, there are many grape syrups that we’d steer away from! We’ve tested a lot of them, and have ranked our findings to help you pick up a great one right off the bat and to avoid bad ones – because who wants to spend time and money figuring out which grape syrups are good and bad!

Let’s check them out!
What is grape syrup?
Grape syrup is a syrup that imparts the sweetness and tartness of grapes, boasting a delicious flavor profile that’ll elevate many dishes!
It’s generally made through a process that includes boiling grapes, taking their skins off, turning them into puree, and then boiling them together in a mixture of water and sugar.
How to use grape syrup for flavoring
Grape syrup can be used in many ways, and can even act as a sweetener in place of honey!
It’s great as a topping for things like pancakes, waffles, and ice cream, and you can also mix it into your lemonade or sparkling water for a delicious grape beverage! Grape syrup can even be used as a glaze for things like meat if you want to get creative, or throw it into your bakes to get a distinct grape flavor! It also fits perfectly into many salads as a dressing.
For standard beverages, start with about 1-2 tablespoons of grape syrup to flavor them. This might take a little experimenting, but add more or less until you get the flavor you want! The same goes for covering ice cream, pancakes, waffles, etc. as a topping – pour as much as you desire!
Baking is a little trickier, so it’s best to use it as the recipe asks for – you’ll likely be looking at around ½ a cup for most standard batches.

Others we reviewed
As we mentioned, not all grape syrups are created equal, and there are quite a few that didn’t make the cut here today.
These grape syrups didn’t miss the mark because they taste bad – a lot of them taste good – but the brands unfortunately decided to use artificial ingredients, which we don’t stand behind.
Natural ingredients provide the best flavors and are the best for our bodies, and we at Coconut Mama don’t believe that we should settle for fake ingredients when the real deal is much better!
So, here are the 6 grape syrups we tested that use artificial flavoring and/or coloring:
- Torani
- Snappy
- Monin
- Hawaiian Shaved Ice
- Fusion Select
- Lucy’s Family Owned
You might recognize Torani and Monin on that list, which are usually great options when it comes to flavoring syrups. However, they missed the mark here just like all the other ones listed, and we don’t recommend their grape syrups.
That being said, check out the great options in the rankings above!
