My coconut matcha latte is creamy and packed with healthy fats and antioxidants. It’s a perfect way to start your morning!
I’ll be honest, my first experience with matcha wasn’t great. I had read about how healthy it is and was excited to try it. Sadly, I was slightly disappointed in the flavor of this tea.
Over time I learned more about matcha and decided I needed to like it. So I purchased some and began to test different recipes. My favorite latte that I created was with MTC oil powder. Wow, what a difference it made! MTC powder made this latte taste so amazing creamy, I couldn’t stop drinking it!
Matcha tea is rich in antioxidants, helps boosts brain function, and may even be preventive against cancer.
Matcha is powdered green tea leaves. What’s so great about green tea? Its consumption is associated with lower rates of heart attacks, strokes, and premature death, proven in randomized, controlled trials to prevent precancerous colon polyps from developing, and precancerous prostate lesions from turning into full-blown cancer, and so anti-viral there’s an FDA-approved green tea compound ointment used to reverse warts caused by the HPV virus. – Dr. Greger, https://nutritionfacts.org/
How To Make A Coconut Matcha Latte
There are a few things that make this latte so delicious! First, you need a quality matcha tea that’s organic. I’ve purchased some from amazon and Pique Tea, and love them both. Pique tea’s matcha come in individual packets, making it convenient to use on the go.
Second you need a creamy milk like coconut or macadamia nut. Almond milk will work, but it’s not as tasty as the other options.
Next is the MTC oil powder. This powder makes a HUGE difference in the taste of this latte. I use it in all my coffee drinks, lattes and hot cocoa now.
Pick your sweetener. If you’re keeping your sugar low you can use erythritol, monk fruit or stevia. If you’re okay with a little natural sugar, pure maple syrup is a great option.
Lastly, there are a few tools that are too fun not to share. A bamboo whisk or electric milk frother (this is what I use) will froth your latte up and make you feel like you’re a legit barista!
