Intro

If you haven’t been to Buc-ee’s, the most important thing I want you to know is that you are seriously missing out.
It’s incredible.
I mean, the typical Buc-ee’s is larger than a grocery store…and 20-30 times bigger than your typical convenience store.
What an experience…

You can get just about anything there

Do you want kolaches? Great, Buc-ee’s has them.
Beaver nuggets? Sure, why not.
Hot potato chips? Pecan clusters? Fudge in a dozen flavors?
Ice cream? Fresh brisket? Soda? Coffee? Sausage on a stick? Fresh pastries?
Yes, yes, yes.
Yes to all of it.
Your first time visiting, it can be easy to forget that Buc-ee’s is actually MISSING quite a few things…

But NOT everything

And while Buc-ee’s has an amazing menu, and tons of merch, and all kinds of stuff…
Well, in my mind there are some clear gaps in their menu.
So, Buc-ee’s, from me to you: Please add these seven items to your menu!
Starting with a nostalgic favorite…

Corndog

If you’ve ever been to a fair, chances are good you’ve had some version of the “on a stick” food.
Buc-ee’s already does this with its sausage on a stick – so why not bread and fry the sausage?
People (especially kids) would eat it up.

Cheesecake on a stick

This is another fairground food that is totally ready for Buc-ee’s.
It’s creamy, fried, and totally indulgent. Exactly a perfect match for Buc-ee’s, which is larger-than-life in just about every way.

Brisket sliders

Hear me out on this: The Brisket sandwich is big.
But maybe not big enough?
So what if Buc-ee’s sold brisket sliders in packs of three? I bet everyone would buy them. One for you, one for your spouse, one for a child as a snack? Or three all at once as a full meal!

Fried chicken

It’s the one real gap in Buc-ee’s hot food lineup (in my opinion): Good fried chicken.
Deliver it, hot and fresh every day, and Buc-ee’s will be completely unstoppable.

Funnel cake

Kolaches are great. Beaver tails are great.
Funnel cake is…better?
Just imagine ordering at the counter and a smiling member of the Buc-ee’s staff hands you a funnel cake topped with a couple scoops of their ice cream or strawberries and powdered sugar, or warm cinnamon apples.
That would be amazing, right?

Pastrami Reuben

Buc-ee’s used to have a Pastrami Reuben sandwich, and it was incredible.
It was also a TON of food for a great price.
Bring it back!

Jalapeno cheese sausage biscuit

I’m a sucker for a good biscuit, and I’m a sucker for spice.
The jalapeno cheese sausage biscuit was the best of both worlds.
Buc-ee’s, help us out here!

Summary

So there you have it – seven foods I’m begging for Buc-ee’s to add (or add back) to their menu.
A mix of new ideas and old favorites that deserve a second chance.
But of course, the real question is:

What should Buc-ee’s add next?

Did I convince you with any of my pitches?
Or perhaps better yet – what’s your best idea?
What do YOU think Buc-ee’s should add to its menu?
