America drinks a ton of wine.
But which wines do we drink?
Data on which wines are the most popular in every state come courtesy of a study by Hickory Farms, and I included overall wine consumption by state data from NIAAA.

But first, let’s talk overall numbers.
Cabernet Sauvignon wins the pennant as America’s favorite wine, with seven states ranking it first.
Riesling comes in a close second with six states; champagne and mulled wine tie for third with four states each.
(Lambrusco, Shiraz, Bordeaux, Moscato, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris each got one vote as well.)

Summary

So there you have it – America’s favorite wine in every state.
What’s weird to me is that none of the fancy blends (the kind of stuff you get in LA or NYC) made it on the list.
